Over 500 Children Pledge to Make Earth Day... Every Day!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA (April 21, 2011)- Earth Day is April 22nd, and the Frontier Project Foundation is encouraging children all over the region to join in celebrating Earth Day by pledging to help conserve our Earth’s natural resources. While being environmental stewards is important year-round, Earth Day is a great time to educate the public about caring for our Earth. The Frontier Project kicked off the season of Earth Day events at their celebration on April 9th, where over 500 children, ages ranging from five to 18, pledged to make Earth Day every day. In addition to pledging, children shared their ideas on how they can make a difference to help save our Earth.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to celebrate our Earth’s natural resources and educate residents, not only on Earth Day but throughout the year, at our green demonstration facility, the Frontier Project,” commented Kathleen J. Tiegs, Chairman of the Frontier Project Foundation. “It is imperative to educate our youth as they are our future decision makers and can be the difference to preserving our environment.”

The Frontier Project and its parent organization the Cucamonga Valley Water District participated in multiple Earth Day events during April, including one at Los Osos High School where students joined in pledging to do their part in protecting our Earth. The Earth Day pledges and inspirational ideas are on display at the Frontier Project, suitably placed, as the building exhibits environmentally sustainable products, systems, technologies, and concepts. To see the pledges on display and to read about how kids in the Inland Empire are going to make a difference, visit the Frontier Project Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am to 3pm, or visit www.frontierproject.org. You can also participate by making the Earth Day Pledge, available online and in the Frontier Project Technology Gallery.
